Is there such a thing as an easy home based business? In the world of network marketing, too many people promote an easy home based business but the truth is its tough, especially when one is just starting out.

It’s one of the reasons the industry has such a high attrition rate. Many people go in expecting it to be a “piece of cake” then find out it’s more than just signing up and letting things happen.

Ann Sieg makes the point, in her hard-hitting report The 7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing. All too often people are enticed into network marketing by being told they don’t have to do any work and it would be done for them.

They’re told to sign up and the work would be done by their upline. All they have to do is make a list of names and attend meetings with prospects and they would be sold on the idea by their upline. If you’ve been in MLM for any amount of time you know how that works out.

The thought of and easy home based business creates a get rich quick mentality. Unfortunately when you are in this frame of mind, you’re going to struggle to build a business from home because once you start thinking like this, you’re conditioning your mind to expect things to happen for you without you actually doing anything. Then when things don’t go the way you thought they would, you start looking elsewhere or you give up altogether.

The Network Marketing landscape becomes covered with MLM “corpses” after this type of thinking and it’s a substantial reason why more than 90 per cent of start ups end in quitting their business within the first three months.

Today, with internet network marketing now becoming such a prominent business model, the same principles apply. If someone starts telling you that you can make a lot of money without doing much work with an easy home based business, turn and run the other way!

With internet network marketing, there is an immediate learning curve to overcome and it takes time to understand and learn how to implement online strategies to attract prospects into your business.

But here’s the good news… once you’ve learned to master these strategies it becomes easier and you’ll be amazed at how effortlessly you can attract prospects in numbers. Then, and only then, can you start viewing it as an easy home based business.
