Old school methods of finding prospects for your network marketing business might have been effective even a decade ago but today is a different story. You probably have heard your upline tell you to “make a list of everyone you know”. No matter how long or short that list is, eventually you will run out of prospects to speak with.

This method may have worked well “back in the day”, but it is flawed in today’s internet environment. Most people you approach are just not interested in what you have to offer.

Don’t get me wrong…you should consider people you think are leaders in your warm market and of course,let your close friends and family know that you have started a new business. You can even send out postcards and emails to your friends, but make sure that you give them a little value instead of hitting them with a sales pitch.

Network marketing today is better served through Attraction Marketing. Through attraction marketing, you develop a relationship with your prospects.

Initial contact is extremely important, but so is the time directly afterwards. Below is a short list that will help you market to prospects:

1. In your article promotions you must grab the attention of your prospect so they get excited about what you have to offer. (Having a great headline is something that can help get their attention extremely quickly)

2. You then must excite your potential prospect. You must get them interested in your company and show them exactly what you can do for them. You must show your prospect what is in it for them.

3. By being a person of value, you earn the respect of your prospect.

4. Lastly, create an incentive for your prospect. You may want to give away a free report for example.

The process of network marketing does not have to be hard, and it can actually be very easy. The process can be extremely enjoyable if you think logically and work hard.

One of the keys to any successful network marketing business is lead generation. Without lead generation your business is ultimately going to fail. Personally, I am not a fan of buying network marketing leads no matter what the price is. The main reason is that you are not in control.

What do we mean by not being in control? Basically you weren’t the one who generated the leads. How do you know how fresh the leads are you purchased or how they were generated? How do you know if these people haven’t already been called?

The idea that when you start or join a business you should buy network marketing leads and purchase as many as you can to be successful is simply not true. Sites that sell these usually buy the best qualified lead to worst qualified lead, and most people buy the best which cost hundreds of dollars.

This of course leads to the issue of constant rejection. A lot of times, people are surprised that you have their information and are not even sure how they got on to your list.

You then start to think that purchasing leads may have not been the best idea in the world.
